What better place to meditate than in a nature park. You can absorb the beauty of your surroundings and feel more in tune with the environment and yourself. Doing this can help to cultivate and deepen the inner peace within you.

Please join us to experience deep relaxation meditation. We will gather at the entrance to the Oak Ridge Marsh Nature Park and walk silently to an area where you will experience a guided relaxation. After this, we will practice a walking meditation and mindfulness meditation.

If you have never meditated before, instructions and a brief overview will be shared. Prompts throughout the practice will help you stay focused to gain the most from our time together. Please note: pre-registration is required.

About Instructor Susan Short, MA

Focused on treating the complete mind, body, and spirit, Susan Short began meditating sixteen years ago. Susan believes the success of counseling, and ultimately life fulfillment, can be enhanced significantly when breath awareness, meditation, and mindfulness are part of the treatment. Susan has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, and has  completed a year-long deep study in Meditation Teacher Training. She continues to study at Touching Earth Mindfulness Center in Chicago. Susan works with individuals and groups in the Midwest.
