Volunteers are always needed for the fun and rewarding work of habitat restoration, whether indoors or out. Workdays provide great exercise, fresh air and the chance to make new friends.  And, our committees that work on events, projects and educational programs inspire creativity, project management skills, and community awareness!  There are several ways to volunteer indicated in the form below.                                                                                          In 2020:                                                                                                                                      Sat., Feb.,1, 9 am to 12 noon, Lake Zurich High School west oak grove.                                    Sat., Feb., 15, 9 am to 11 am, Oak Ridge Marsh Nature Park, north end, Schiller St. entrance.  Saturday Feb.29. Who Can Volunteer? 

  • Adults and teens age 13 and up.  Children ages 12 and under with an adult.
  • Girl and Boy Scouts (can earn badges, Try-its, Eagle Scout and Gold Badge Award work)
  • School service organizations such as React, Interact and National Honor Society
  • Church/Synagogue groups
  • Corporate teams

Workdays are year round, even in winter. Most are on Saturday mornings.  

We work at various parks and natural areas in the Lake Zurich area, depending on the season and the task.  We keep an updated list on our Events page but you can stay informed by adding completing our form below.  We send an email blast out with any changes early in the week of the workday. 

No equipment or skills necessary.  Wear clothes that can get dirty and bring sturdy gardening gloves. Wear insect repellent in warm weather.
