We are working 9:45am -12pm on Sundays through April (4/21 and 4/28) at Kuechmann Arboretum (KA). 

Help keep our green spaces healthy! Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Bring gardening gloves. Bring a bottle of water. Get ready to weed Garlic Mustard and Dame’s Rocket, two invasive plants in our woodland. Easy to pull! THERE WILL BE SNACKS!

PLEASE NOTE* April 28 workday location is Kuechmann Arboretum.

Join us at the main entrance to Kuechmann Arboretum. The entrance is just south of Bobbers and next to the large white and black house. See attached map. There is a parking lot. 

If you are under 18, please also bring the waiver above filled out and signed by a guardian or parent. If your parent/guardian drops you off to the workday you may have them sign our waiver then. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Please arrive promptly at or BEFORE 9:45am to receive proper directions.

Who Can Volunteer?

  • Adults and teens age 13 and up. Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult, unless approved otherwise in advance. Ancient Oaks Foundation coordinators reserve the right to send minors home.
    • Please note: If volunteering as part of restitution service hours, a parent must accompany the minor volunteer.
  • Girl and Boy Scouts (can earn badges, Try-its, Eagle Scout and Gold Badge Award work)
  • School service organizations such as React, Interact and National Honor Society
  • Church/Synagogue groups
  • Corporate teams

For any questions regarding who can volunteer please email volunteer@ancientoaksfoundation.org Request that your email address be added to our volunteer eblast so you can be informed of the task and location and any changes to workday schedule.

For workdays: DO: wear long legged pants such as denim jeans that you don’t mind getting dirty as well as long sleeved shirts. Wear closed toed shoes. Bring gardening gloves. DO NOT wear open toed shoes, shorts, fancy clothes that you don’t want to get dirty. No loose jewelry. Please leave your cell phones at home or in your car. They are very difficult to locate if they are lost in the woods. Not Able to Volunteer?
