Breezewald Prairie Patch is seeded

In spring of 2015 we initiated a meeting between the Village and the townhome developer and worked out a plan to replace the weefd and debris filled area with prairie habitat.  We spent the summer ridding the patch of noxious weeds and removed the old fencing.  We collected various types of prairie seed and purchased additional seed and on November 7 8 volunteers spread the seed and blanketed it with straw matting.  it will take a few years for this to fill in but we har hopeful that Mother Nature will do her best to return thi area to a wonderful habitat for birds, bees, bats and other pollinators…
